The echo of the brilliant television drama “I Medici” has just died away and I discover a very beautiful book: “La Diva Simonetta”, by Giovanna Strano. The novel plunges me headlong back into the events of the mid-1400s, in the glittering Florence of the Medici court. Here are all the characters of the time: Lorenzo and Giuliano de Medici, Clarice Orsini, Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco, Lucrezia Tornabuoni, Francesco de ‘Pazzi etc.
